Brooklyn Tea & Market at John F. Kennedy International Airport Terminal 4 has been named the North America Regional Winner for Airport Coffee/Tea Shop of the Year at the 2026 Airport Food & Beverage Awards.
Presented by The Moodie Davitt Report, the annual FAB Awards recognize excellence in airport food, beverage and hospitality around the world.
The recognition marks a major milestone for Brooklyn Tea, which began as an online tea company before opening its flagship tea room on Lewis Avenue in Bed Stuy. Founded by married couple Ali and Jamila Wright, the company has grown from a neighborhood tea room into a multichannel premium tea brand with a presence in retail, ecommerce and airport hospitality.
Brooklyn Tea & Market is located near Gate B29 in JFK Terminal 4 and offers travelers a selection of Brooklyn Tea's premium teas alongside products from other New York brands.
"When we opened our first tea room in Bed Stuy, the goal was to create the kind of tea experience we wanted to see in the world," said Brooklyn Tea cofounder Ali Wright. "To now have that experience recognized on an international airport stage is incredibly meaningful. It shows that tea can be every bit as exciting, relevant and hospitality driven as any other premium beverage."
The JFK location was developed through Brooklyn Tea's partnership with Avolta and HMSHost, bringing the company's approach to tea and hospitality into the travel environment.
For Brooklyn Tea, the award represents more than recognition for a single location.
"Brooklyn will always be where this started," Wright said. "The challenge as we grow is making sure that someone encountering Brooklyn Tea at JFK receives the same sense of discovery, care and connection that someone feels when they walk into our tea room on Lewis Avenue."
