Brooklyn Tea was founded by married couple Jamila Wright and Tea Sommelier Alfonso Wright to make high-quality tea more accessible — especially to communities often excluded from wellness spaces. What began as a Bed-Stuy tea room now includes a second location in Atlanta, a shop at JFK Terminal 4, and shelf space at Target and Wegmans.
That mission carries into how we give back: HBCU scholarships, free tea and education for nonprofits working on food insecurity, housing, and mental health, our tea rooms offered as space for community organizing, and spent tea leaves composted for local urban gardens.

Corporate tea gifting FAQs
How far in advance should we book?
For on-site experiences and custom-branded packaging, four to six weeks is comfortable. Standard bulk orders and gift boxes need less — often two weeks or under. If your date is sooner than that, still reach out; we will tell you honestly what is possible.
Is there a minimum order?
Minimums vary by format — individually packaged giveaways, gift boxes, and on-site service each work differently. Send us your headcount and we will confirm the minimum that applies to your project in our quote.
How much do corporate tea gifts cost?
We quote every partnership individually, because cost depends on format, quantity, packaging, custom branding, and whether staff travel on site. Share your headcount, date, and any budget range you are working within, and we will come back with options at more than one price point.
Can you brand the packaging with our company logo?
Yes. Options range from co-branded cards and sleeves to custom hang tags and printed inserts. Lead time and minimums increase with the level of customization, so raise it early in the conversation.
Where do you travel for on-site corporate events?
We regularly serve events throughout Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the greater New York City area, and around metro Atlanta from our second tea room. For events outside those areas, ask — travel is possible and priced into the quote.
What do you need from us on event day?
Typically a table or counter, access to power, and a load-in window before doors open. Hot water service, teaware, and serving supplies come with us. We will send a short logistics checklist once your date is confirmed.
Do you offer caffeine-free and allergy-friendly tea options?
Yes. Our herbal and rooibos blends are naturally caffeine-free, and we can build an entire collection around them. Full ingredient lists are available for every blend so your team can review them against dietary needs and allergen policies before the event.
How is the tea packaged, and is it sustainable?
We specialize in loose leaf, and offer pyramid sachets when convenience matters. Our sachets are made from a poly lactic acid (PLA) polymer resin derived from corn starch — no plastics. Teas are responsibly sourced, and we compost our spent leaves for local urban gardens.
Can you ship corporate gifts directly to employees at home?
Yes. We can bulk ship to a single office address or split-ship to individual home addresses from a list you provide. Split-shipping adds cost and lead time, so flag it up front.
Can we set up an ongoing tea program for our office?
Yes — recurring wholesale tea for office pantries, hotels, restaurants, and showrooms is a core part of what we do. Open a wholesale account and we will set up a delivery cadence that matches how fast your team drinks.
Do you work with nonprofits and community organizations?
We do. We provide free tea and education to nonprofits focused on food insecurity, housing, and mental health, and open our tea rooms for grassroots organizing and mutual aid events. Tell us about your organization when you reach out.
Can our team visit before we commit?
Please do. Our Brooklyn tea room is at 411 Lewis Ave in Bed-Stuy and our Atlanta tea room is at 329 Nelson St. Come taste, and we can talk through options in person.
